CLM Study Group

The CLM Study Group meets on a regular basis to prepare for ALA's CLM Exam.

Finance & Technology Section

The Finance & Technology Section provides an opportunity to remain current and discuss relevant issues related to chapter members and their firms.  This presentation-driven format features relevant topics regarding aspects of finance and technology in an informal setting.  Various finance and technology experts provide timely updates and commentary regarding updates and changes in legal industry best practices.

General Meetings

General Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of most months at Antonello Ristorante in Santa Ana near South Coast Plaza.  A variety of law-firm related topics are addressed by professional speakers and generally offer a question-and-answer period after the presentation.  Time for networking and catching up with peers and friends is available prior to the speaker's presentation.

Human Resources Section 

The Human Resources Section meets twice per year and covers various topics relating directly to Human Resource Management in law firms.  As a manager tackling the daily challenges of human resource issues, attending these meetings will benefit both you and your firm by keeping you informed of the ever-changing California labor and employment laws and related policies.  Presentations are made by professional speakers and/or legal administrators.  The Chapter recognizes the need for quality educational speakers as well as practical advice from administrators on the day-to-day human resource issues facing administrators today.  Please consult the chapter calendar for meeting dates, times, and locations or contact a member of the Human Resources Section committee listed in the "Extended Board Members" section of the website. 

Small Firm Section

The Small Firm Section meets on a quarterly basis for a roundtable discussion regarding issues distinctively relevant to the various aspects of law firm operations.  The meeting promotes an exchange of information, facilitates collaboration among participants, sharing of best practices, and provides an opportunity for attendees to seek advice from experienced members.

Large Firm / Branch Office Section

The Large Firm/Branch Office Section of OC-ALA provides an opportunity to discuss topics unique to large firms and firms with multiple offices.  Discussions cover all aspects of large firm administration including human resources, technology, accounting and facilities management. The meeting's informal structure provides a unique opportunity for participants to interact with their colleagues.  This section is especially helpful to administrators who are new to the large firm/branch office environment.  More experienced members are a great mentoring resource and welcome new members to join the group. 

Past Presidents' / Charter Members' Council

Past Presidents' / Charter Members' Council Meetings are conducted on a semi-annual basis.  All Past Presidents and Charter Members of the Chapter are welcome to attend.  The meeting format is a roundtable discussion drawing on the unique perspective and experience of Past Presidents and Charter Members regarding development and management of the chapter.
